  • Patriot’s Pen:  Why I Honor the American Flag student essay contest is now open to all students. This is a writing contest open to all students at Sandburg and sponsored by the Veteran’s of Foreign War. There are forms outside the office if you are interested in this.There are cash prizes for essay winners. Essays are due in the office by October 31, 2018.

  • Superhero Club - Meets Tuesday after school in the art room. Questions? See Dr. Emrikson in room 207A

  • Do you like to …- Dance? - Write stories? - Compose music? -Take photos? - Create artwork or short films? Whatever your creative outlet is, consider entering a project for the REFLECTIONS art program.  Entries are due November 12. Select projects will advance to the district, regional, state and national level. For more information, visit the Sandburg PTA website.

  • The Book Fair is open starting TODAY in the library until next Friday, October 26th. Shopping is allowed before school (7:45-8:10), during English class visits, during lunch periods, and after school until 4:00pm. Mrs. Stephenson is taking donations for All For Books which provides books to school’s whose libraries have been ruined by recent hurricanes. We’ve already raised $35 which means 35 donated books so far! Let’s keep that number growing!

  • It is time to order your Yearbook. Please have your parents go to the parent’s resource area of Sandburg’s website and order.

  • Rehearsal for all AV students for Willy Wonka will meet everyday until the shows.

  • NEW - Sandburg is proud to announce our very own Threadless Custom Artist Shop! Students can create a design representing their grade level with a “CLASS OF 20XX” T-shirt. Students can submit their work to Mrs. Leban or Mr. Walker by October 31st. Voting for each grade level will be held on Election Day, November 6th.   • Tomorrow is  the Fresh Start Breakfast!  All students are invited to a FREE Fresh Start breakfast sponsored by the PTA as we begin the second quarter. We are celebrating our first quarter goals and setting goals for quarter 2. The breakfast will be served at the following times:

    • 7:00 to 7:25 – for 7th and 8th grade  Band/Orchestra/Choir students

    • 7:40 to 8:05 – for all other students breakfast

  • Come cheer on the Sandburg 7th grade girls basketball team today after school vs. Indian Trail 4:00 in the gym. Go Spartans!!
