The following grade levels/students will be tested:
● 8th grade: vision only
● All Special Education Students and Transfer Students: vision and hearing
● Teachers Referrals

Vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye exam by an eye doctor. Your student is not required to undergo this vision screening if an optometrist or ophthalmologist has completed and signed a report form indicating that an exam has been administered within the previous 12 months and that the evaluation is on file at the school. If a vision exam report is not on file at the school, your student in the mandated group will be tested.

Any student who does not pass the initial vision and/or hearing screening is automatically rescreened 2 weeks later. If the student does not pass the rescreen, parents/guardians will be notified.

GLASSES - Please have your student bring their glasses to school on testing day.

For any questions, please feel free to give the health office a call.

Please remind your student that cell phones/smartwatches are to be turned off and put away during the entire school day (8:30-3:30), and that recording on school property is a technology violation per the student handbook.

 Please have your student either:
· Keep their cell phones in their locker
· Leave their cell phones at home
· Check their cell phones in at the office at arrival and out at dismissal time

Continued use of cell phones during the school day and/or misuse of video-sharing applications may result in lunch and/or after-school detentions and/or loss of privilege.

If your student texts you between those hours needing something (i.e., not feeling well), we ask that you have them reach out to a staff member (i.e., our school nurse) and/or come to the office for assistance.
