Welcome Back to School!
The Sandburg PTA would like to provide some helpful information to families over the summer. We hope you find this info useful. Please reach out with any questions to Kathleen Meade, PTA President. Have a great summer!

Health Forms Submitted
If you need to turn in health forms to Sandburg's nurse, you may drop them off in person at the office -OR- you may email them to Michelle Ewert at mewert@elmhurst205.org
Two things to consider:
* Fill out the parent portion of the forms and sign
* If emailing the forms, take pictures of the front and back of the form as both sides need to be submitted.
Options For Chromebooks
Parents of 6th and 7th graders - Please consider purchasing a protective case for your child’s Lenovo 500e gen 3 Chromebook. While these are very nice Chromebook, they do not take impacts well. Cracked screens cost $100 last year, and while a case does not guarantee preventing all damage, we have yet to see a cracked screen on a device with a protective cover. Amazon offers a variety of cases.
All parents - Please consider buying extra chargers for your child’s Chromebook. The Lenovo 500e Chromebook use either USB-C 45- or 65-watt charger.

Sixth Grade Social: Friday, September 13th 5 - 6:30PM
All 6th Graders are invited to a Fall Social prior to the York Varsity football game on Friday, September 13th from 5:00PM - 6:30PM in the back of Sandburg. There will be games, food, snacks, drinks, a DJ, and some fun raffle prizes to win!
Register your 6th grader for this event -- $0 for PTA members, $5 for non-PTA members.
We need your help to make it happen! Please consider donating, lending yard games and/or chaperoning! Sign up to help here.

Sandburg Spirit Wear Store Closes September 15th
The fall Sandburg spirit wear store is now available! The website will be open until 9/15/24. Orders will be distributed to your student at school approximately 2 weeks after the store closes. Happy shopping, Spartans!
Currito Eat & Earn September 18th
Stop by Currito on Wednesday, September 18th anytime between 11am - 9pm and mention you are with Sandburg Middle School to have 20% of your purchase go back to the school!
Picture Day, Retakes October 8
Color Portraits was at Sandburg to photograph students during school hours on August 20. If parents missed prepaying they will have a chance to order pictures with their child's Ticket Code. When placing an order after Picture Day with a Ticket Code a shipping fee will be added on and picture packages will be shipped directly to the home. Ticket Codes will be delivered with the bulk picture package order approximately three weeks post Picture Day. Retake day is October 8th.

Fall Parent Teacher Conferences November 7/8
For middle schools, parent/teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:30 PM and Friday, November 8th, 2024, from 8:00 to 3:00 PM. There will be opportunities for both in-person and Zoom conferences. Sign-up times will be available online. Please watch for further details.
Purchase 2024-2025 Yearbooks
It is time to order your 24-25 Sandburg Yearbook! Yearbook are $18.01. Do it now, so you aren't left wondering if you did it or not!! If you would like your student(s) to receive a yearbook at the end of the year, make sure to purchase one today!

Sandburg Clubs & Activities
Please find information on 2024/25 clubs and activities here. Note that all clubs/activities are subject to change as some may be added or eliminated during the school year. Sponsors may change too, as well as dates/times. Stay tuned throughout the school year for updated information.
Foundation 205 Christmas Tree Sales
Trees are $30 each from August 1st - August 31st
Price increases to $35 on September 1st
Orders accepted through September 30th (unless we sell out sooner)
Delivery on Saturday November 23rd is included for neighborhood group orders of 4+ with a designated Tree Captain
For individual orders without a Tree Captain, trees may be picked up at Sandburg Middle School on Saturday November 23rd or delivered for a $25 fee
Online orders only- cash and checks will NOT be accepted

Sandburg PTA Reimbursement
Please allow up to 10-14 days for reimbursement; all fields must be filled out for a timely reimbursement. If a receipt or invoice file is not available, please forward information regarding the reimbursement to ElmhurstSandburgPTA@gmail.com. Only one expense request per form should be submitted.
