WE NEED YOUR HELP
Sandburg School Community: We need your help to fund a need in our school!
We’re excited to announce a new initiative by the Sandburg PTA and Sandburg Staff to raise funds for updating the gymnasium. Our goal is to purchase new chairs, bluetooth speakers, and a scorer’s table, enhancing the gym's appearance during basketball and volleyball games and improving the overall experience for student athletes & fans, staff, and families.  The speakers will also be used by the Cross Country & Track Teams for practices.
These upgrades will provide a professional look for athletic events, making our gym feel like a true home court. The new chairs & speakers will also be versatile for various school events, including assemblies and special events (e.g., honors assembly), providing a lively culture for students and functionality for everyone.
Sandburg is currently the only middle school without this set up (as you can see in photos below) - we want our school environment to represent the pride we have in our Sandburg Spartans!
We kindly ask for your support to turn this vision into reality. Every contribution, big or small, will help make our gym a welcoming and functional space for our community.
Please click here to donate to this initiative.
* All donations to the Sandburg PTA are tax deductible
* Should you prefer to donate via Check vs. Online you can make a check payable to Sandburg PTA.  Contact Kathleen Meade to make check pick up or drop off arrangements (elmhurstsandburgpta@gmail.com)

Please see some common FAQ's below:
How Much do you need to raise to cover the costs? We need to raise $10,000 to cover all costs
What are you purchasing with this money?  We plan to purchase the following items:

  • 26 Chairs ($175/each) + Chair Rack for Storage ($1200)

  • Scorer's Table ($3300)

  • Bluetooth Speakers that can be used for school events and to play music for XC & Track Practices and at Volleyball & Basketball Games. ($500/each)

If you raise more than $9500, what will you do with the access funds? Funds raised above the required amount will be held by PTA and we will work with Mr Louis to fund other “wish list” items needed in our school.  A full recap of how all funds are used will be shared with parents to ensure full transparency.

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day – Thursday, March 27th
Next Thursday, March 27th, the Special Education Resource Group (SERG) is leading the celebration of Paraprofessional Appreciation Day to recognize the incredible contributions of paraprofessionals in our schools. These dedicated individuals provide invaluable support to students and staff every day.
SERG will be distributing gifts to paraprofessionals at each school as a token of appreciation. We also encourage families to take a moment to show their gratitude in their own way!
💙 Ways to Participate:
✉️ Make a card – A heartfelt note can make their day.
📝 Send a message – A quick email or note goes a long way.
😊 Say thank you – A simple word of appreciation means so much.
🌟 Get creative! – A small treat, a child’s drawing, or any thoughtful gesture can make a difference.
Let’s come together to recognize and celebrate our amazing paraprofessionals!

Foundation 205

Teacher Appreciation Week
Let Foundation 205 help you celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week!
Beginning Monday March 10th and running through Friday April 11th, you can purchase an Elevate an Educator gift for staff throughout the district! This unique partnership provides families with a way to recognize educators and staff members who have made a difference for their student(s) with a gift card from a local business and a personal note of gratitude.
Each gift is $25 and includes a $20 gift card from a participating business of your choice and a $5 donation to Foundation 205. Our volunteers will deliver each gift, along with your personal message, during the first week of May for Teacher Appreciation Week. Since 2021, Foundation 205 has delivered over 3,600 gift cards to our D205 Educators and invested more than $73,000 back into Elmhurst businesses - we hope to keep that momentum going this year!
Tickets can be purchased at the following link:

5Essential Survey
The State of Illinois is currently conducting the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, and we need your input! This survey provides valuable insights into our school community, and when at least 20% of our parents/guardians participate, we gain access to important feedback that helps us improve and grow.
We kindly ask you to take a few moments to complete the survey for each of your students. Simply click the link below, select “DuPage,” and search for our school to begin.
Your voice matters, and we truly appreciate your time and support in making our school the best it can be!

The PTA Council would like to invite you to two fantastic evenings with the leads at Sproutable. Anxiety in Children: Signs, Myths, & Strategies with Julietta Skoog, Parent Coach
Hosted by Elmhurst D205 PTA Council
April 8 @ 7-9pm CST
FREE! Registration Linkhttp://bit.ly/4ixSWq5
Anxiety affects children of all ages. It can feel overwhelming to know what to do and how to respond. Anxiety can be at the root of work avoidance, big emotions, sensitivity, limited social skills, withdrawn or internalizing behaviors, specific phobias, and perfectionism. It can affect sleep, independence, separation, eating and transitions. Sometimes it presents itself in big ways and sometimes small. If your child struggles with anxiety, you are not alone! Learn signs, myths, and helpful strategies to teach coping skills for overcoming anxiety in home and at school. In this experiential, insightful workshop, you will learn tangible tools to use right away with the child in your life, and a renewed sense of hope for how YOU can help.
Julietta Skoog is a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer, with degrees in School Counseling, School Psychology, and over 20 years experience in Seattle Public Schools. Her expertise includes child development, autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, behavior disorders, and mindfulness. She is the mother of three and the co-founder of Sproutable, which offers adults the tools, systems and strategies to cultivate powerful relationships, teach social-emotional skills, and set healthy limits and boundaries with all children.
